There was something rather charming about this existing Post-war house with it's cream brick and curving concrete entry way. The brief was fairly open, however as is typical with most houses of old, the layout and plan were not. The basic idea was to convert this brick-veneer home into a fun and family-ready home with plenty of space for the those who live there (including two huskies) but the rather large extended family as well. The renovation takes the existing two bedroom dwelling and transforms it into a flexible family home consisting of 3 bedrooms, a study and open plan living which engages the backyard as opposed to the street. This particular street from aerial view has a special affinity with the classic 'lean-to', however, it seems this dwelling was left out. Being that it was an obvious way to make the house engage the green and lush garden, we thought that we could pay respect to this notion, but do it proper.
